History

The history of our business begins in the 50's when our grandparents opened a small traditional tavern in the region of Valtoudi in Milina. The name of this tavern was 'Gibraltar' and came to be a 'passage' for thousands of visitors over the years.

Our first customers were the renowned traditional boat builders who worked in the neighboring ship yard and made their famous hulls. The cuisine and the menu were small without many selections but with great taste and artistry. By the end of the 60's and beginning of the 70's the first tourists started arriving thus motivating the development of significant tourist infrastructure.

In 1970 our parents took the old tavern, renovated the building and transformed a small traditional tavern into a modern restaurant with a bigger menu and a greater selection. The second generation was now responsible for continuing the tradition...

Our traditional recipes and especially the way the meals are prepared made our customer base grow day by day, but what pleased us most was that our customers became our friends and those friends visit us every year again and again bringing other friends with them ...The secret: only local fish and meat, a lot of artistry when selecting the best raw materials and good wine and tsipouro from our vineyard.

Year after year we come to realize that we should offer something more to our guests and visitors, so we created Marianthi Studios and Apartments in order to cover the accommodation needs of the visitors of our beautiful village.

The time for the third generation to take the reins and to expand even more an already successful business with additional services, new ideas, passion and freshness has come.
